“Logo? Oh, I just do that with Canva. I'm saving myself the money! “Do you feel caught? 👀

The other day I had fun and just tested it out. 😅

Canva opened, clicked on “Create a logo.” Easy so far for now.

Then to the templates, clicked through the styles a bit and then selected something that I like and adjusted a bit.

Done.

When I let my designer brain out about it, it doesn't even feel so bad.

Perhaps you've done this or something similar before? 😉

If you now think that this is now followed by words of condemnation — nope, do it.

Be inspired, see what you like. It won't be Canva bashing ✌🏼

I also use Canva myself — but more to create posts based on my own templates, for example. It is a mega tool for people without a design background to try things out and visualize something easily without having to fight their way through Photoshop or InDesign.

Nevertheless — and I'm being very direct about that — it doesn't make you a designer to look for a few templates together and adapt them a bit. Just as little as taking a week's crash course to become an architect, right? 😉

In fact, logo design also means:

  • Define a clear target group
  • Define colors and fonts according to the target group
  • To create a form that stands uniquely for your business and visualizes it timelessly

... and that just takes more than 5 minutes and a bit of visual sensation.

Or would you let someone build your house after a one-week course? Hardly, after all, it should stand on sturdy scaffolding. 🙌🏼

It's the same with your brand. It should develop and grow on a stable basis! 💛

➡️ And what does it look like? Do you just make your logo yourself or do you put it in professional hands?
